Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

VecNine is a personality sequencing platform operated by VecNine ("we", "us", or "our"). Our primary product is a birthdate-based personality calculation tool available at vecnine.com and through our mobile applications.

This Privacy Policy applies to all VecNine products and services, including the VecNine Lab, VecNine Atlas, VecNine Famous, and any associated APIs or tools.

2. What data we collect

Data you provide directly

• Birthdates — entered to calculate personality sequences. These may be your own or those of others you choose to profile.
• Profile names and notes — labels and observations you attach to saved profiles in the tool.
• Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter or create a member account.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan. Payment data is processed by Stripe and we do not store card details.

Data collected automatically

• Usage analytics — page views, feature usage, and session data collected via privacy-preserving analytics (no cross-site tracking).
• Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Error logs — anonymous crash reports and performance metrics.

Data we do not collect

• We do not collect your precise GPS location.
• We do not read your contacts, messages, or files.
• We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.

3. How we use your data

We use collected data for the following purposes:

• To calculate and display personality sequences based on birthdates you enter.
• To save and retrieve your profiles when you use the tool across sessions.
• To send newsletters and product updates if you have opted in.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To improve the product through aggregate, anonymised usage analysis.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to train AI models, serve advertisements, or sell to third parties under any circumstances.

4. Data storage & retention

Local storage (default)

By default, all profile data you create in VecNine Lab is stored only in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you use the Export or Sync features. We have no access to it.

Cloud sync (opt-in)

If you enable cross-device sync, your profiles are encrypted and stored in our cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare), linked to your account. You can delete this data at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us.

Retention

• Account data is retained until you delete your account.
• Anonymous analytics data is retained for 12 months.
• Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by law.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate VecNine:

• Clerk — authentication and account management. Privacy policy
• Stripe — payment processing. Card data goes directly to Stripe; we receive only confirmation tokens. Privacy policy
• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and edge storage. Privacy policy
• Beehiiv — newsletter delivery for opted-in subscribers. Privacy policy

Each third party processes data under their own privacy policies. We choose providers that are GDPR compliant and operate under standard contractual clauses where applicable.

6. Cookies & tracking

VecNine uses minimal cookies. Specifically:

• Session cookies — used by Clerk to maintain your authenticated session. These expire when you close your browser or log out.
• Preference cookies — used to remember your accessibility settings (theme, font size). These are first-party and contain no personally identifiable information.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. You can clear all cookies at any time through your browser settings without affecting your locally stored profiles.

7. Your rights

For all users

• Access a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your profile data at any time via the built-in JSON/CSV export tools.
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in any email we send.

GDPR (EU/EEA residents)

You have additional rights including the right to restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. Our lawful basis for processing is consent (for email) and legitimate interests (for analytics and security).

CCPA (California residents)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@vecnine.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

VecNine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

Users between 13 and 17 may use VecNine with parental consent. The core calculator does not require an account or any personal data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email (if we have your address) and/or by a notice on the VecNine website at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of VecNine after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
