Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Vecnine's products, services, and website (collectively, "Vecnine" or "the Service"). By accessing or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using Vecnine on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you individually and the organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Vecnine.
2. Description of service
Vecnine is a personality sequencing platform. It uses a versioned birthdate calculation to return an ordered active sequence and a separate absence field, then presents that structure alongside Vecnine and Enneagram-based educational material.
The Service includes public calculators and reading tools, the public Case Index and worked cases, and a research catalog with curriculum and tradition hubs. Members-only material includes Atlas, private workspaces, member tools, and associated content and APIs. Atlas is included with membership; it is not sold as a separate product or add-on.
3. Accounts & eligibility
The free calculator is available without an account. Creating an account requires that you:
- Are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction, if higher).
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Maintain the security of your password and promptly notify us of any breach.
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.
4. Public access and planned membership
Public site
The Vecnine calculator and other designated public pages are free to use without a paid subscription. Some public tools store work in your browser.
Vecnine also grants broad permission to teach the method, reuse designated public educational material, and place the official hosted calculator on another website. The current scope and attribution options are published on Use Vecnine.
Membership preview
Vecnine is designing one paid membership access level, with Atlas included. The Join page may display proposed monthly and annual billing options for that single membership level, but live checkout is disabled and Vecnine is not currently accepting subscription payments through the site.
No subscription begins, renews, or creates a payment obligation while checkout is disabled. Renewal, cancellation, refund, final pricing, and notice terms must be published and confirmed before live billing is enabled. If Stripe billing is activated, Stripe will process payment details under its own terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Vecnine to:
- Profile, type, or categorise individuals without their knowledge or consent in a way that could harm them.
- Present Vecnine outputs as clinical diagnoses or professional psychological assessments.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Reverse-engineer proprietary engine code, bypass access controls, use automated requests in a way that degrades the Service, or extract protected member content. Public database records remain governed by the source notices and licenses linked from the public explorer; these Terms do not replace those permissions. This does not restrict the teaching, quotation, adaptation, or calculator use expressly permitted on Use Vecnine.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Service.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the Service's infrastructure.
- Harass, abuse, or harm others using information derived from Vecnine.
- Create accounts for the purpose of accessing the Service through automated means.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the Service.
We reserve the right to terminate access for any user who violates these provisions.
6. Your content & data
You own your data. Any profiles, notes, or content you create in Vecnine are yours. We claim no ownership over your profile data.
You grant Vecnine a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
We do not use your profile data to train machine learning models, build advertising profiles, or share it with third parties for commercial purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. We recommend using the built-in JSON export feature regularly. We do not guarantee data preservation in the event of account termination or service discontinuation.
7. Intellectual property
The Vecnine calculation implementation, source code, product design, member-only materials, and official identity remain the intellectual property of Vecnine and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and trade-secret law.
Public educational permission. Except where otherwise noted, original public educational text and original explanatory diagrams authored by Vecnine may be copied, shared, translated, adapted, taught, published, and used commercially under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Give reasonable credit, link to Vecnine or the source page where practical, and indicate meaningful changes. See Use Vecnine for the exact scope and ready-to-copy attribution.
You may teach or discuss the public Vecnine method in free or paid work without a royalty, teaching fee, certification, or advance approval. This permission does not make an independent teacher, publication, service, or adaptation an official Vecnine product or endorsement.
Official calculator embed. You may place the hosted Vecnine calculator on a lawful personal, educational, community, nonprofit, or commercial website at no charge. Leave the small vecnine.com attribution intact and do not alter, intercept, or misrepresent the calculated output. The hosted embed permission does not grant rights to copy or redistribute the calculator source code or engine implementation.
The open-content permission does not automatically cover third-party quotations, books, papers, photographs, Wikimedia media, trademarks, member-only Academy materials, private profiles, Community posts, research submissions, or personal data. Those materials remain subject to their own rights and terms.
The Enneagram material referenced by Vecnine draws on the published work of numerous teachers and researchers, credited on our Acknowledgements page. Vecnine grants permission only for rights it controls.
The Vecnine name, logo, and visual identity may be used only for factual attribution unless separate permission is given. Do not use them in a way that suggests affiliation, certification, sponsorship, or endorsement.
8. Disclaimer & limitations of liability
Vecnine is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Personality limitation: Birthdate-based personality sequencing is a system for exploration and reflection. Results may not accurately represent any individual's psychology. We make no claim that sequences are scientifically validated predictors of behavior or personality.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vecnine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or harm resulting from use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Vecnine shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Vecnine in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Vecnine and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy rights.
- Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using Vecnine at any time. To delete your account, use the account settings page or email support@vecnine.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, third parties, or the integrity of the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 13 survive termination.
11. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Vecnine shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's rules, with proceedings conducted in English.
You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving intellectual property or confidentiality.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if we have your address) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with changes, you should stop using the Service before they take effect.
